If I told you the story of how I came to meet Cristy and Nathan of Beach Blacksmith, you’d never believe me. It’s that good.

It all started on their first date.

Seriously.

I was working at the Founders Inn and Spa as a waitress when I was paying my way through graduate school. In walks a new table, a two-top. And it’s pretty clear, between the big smiles, that these people are new to each other.

They were one of those tables, though, that you don’t forget. Fun, engaging, kind, and so appreciative of the world around them.

So, you can imagine my thrill when they returned celebrating their engagement some time later.

I served them then, too. You’d be crazy to think I’d let another server take that table!

Cristy, Nathan and I continued to cross paths throughout the years as we all moved on to different roles at Regent University.

When I heard that they’d started Beach Blacksmith in Virginia Beach, Virginia, I couldn’t wait for our paths to cross again. They were one of the first to hire me to do video work for their business. I was honored and couldn’t wait to learn about the forging process.

I don’t know if you’re the type to believe in God, or that we’re all a part of a bigger story, each weaving in and out of each other’s purpose.

But my time with Beach Blacksmith is such an indicator of that for me.
